Earlier today the crews of the Great Pacific Race 2018 pushed away from California…next stop Hawaii.
Although the typical onshore winds were slow to die off at the end of the day making everyone fight for every mile they made towards Pt. Pinos at the end of Monterey Peninsula. All crews were making solid if slow progress into the wind as they fight to round Monterey Peninsula and head off into the open waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Tomorrow we’ll have a full round-up of the crew’s final day on land before the start cannon, and all the latest news coming back from the ocean after the rowers’ first night of the race at sea.
