First ocean row boat arrives in Monterey

Posted on May 20, 2014 in Uniting Nations

We’ve just had confirmation that the first of the 13 ocean row boats participating in the Great Pacific Race has arrived in Monterey. Team Uniting Nations row boat “Danielle” arrived early this morning on the back of a flat bed truck after being driven down from Oakland. The crew were swiftly aboard and out rowing around Monterey Bay for four and a half hours over lunch. Despite the headwind on the return leg of the journey the crew pushed on and were back on the MPYC dock by 3.30pm. We have had news that 3 other teams will be arriving in Monterey in within the next few hours and so over the next few days the number of crews on the water will continue to increase.
